National Geographic
— Your Shot Mobile
A mobile companion site for a community of photographers to share photos, exchange tips and learn from real National Geographic photo editors.
Role UX & UI Design
The Challenge
My team at National Geographic engaged HUGE, a UX agency, to rethink Your Shot’s product experience. HUGE conducted extensive user research and designed a new UI and core pages of the site. To reduce costs, we had HUGE design the site for desktop-sized browsers, and we chose to design a separate mobile site in-house.

My Role
I partnered with Your Shot’s product manager to design the mobile site. The first thing we did was identify all of the screens and interactions that needed to be translated for the mobile web. I designed dozens of screens and interaction states based on the design and UX of the desktop site. I worked with our web development vendor, Celerity, to build the site. I provided the dev team with an InVision prototype and mockups for every screen and state.
